Optional
- 1/2 cup red wine
Directions

Step 3 | Reduce heat to low and allow to simmer for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally. |
Note
This marinara sauce is perfect for an all-day simmer in a crock pot if you don't want to use a pot.
Just a small correction in the recipe…Step 1 says to sauté the onion, shallot and garlic. There's no shallot mentioned in the ingredient list.
gotta try this…….YUMMY!
gotta try this…….YUMMY!
I tried it in the crockpot, but the liquid didn't reduce and the sauce was watery. Much better on the stove. I've made this several times, and it freezes well for later. Thank you for the recipe guys.
i love this recipe…its my go to… i add celery and carrots with the onion and chunks of garlic…plus meatballs (raw) and let simmer all day… Its amazing!!!!
Yum, I'm lovin' this sauce!!
